Establish a disciplinary council for individuals who have committed violations at EVN

Violations at EVN have been and are being dealt with decisively and thoroughly. The conclusion of the violations will be available in November 2012.

Minister - Head of the Government Office Vu Duc Dam said so at the regular Government press conference in October (afternoon of October 28) on handling violations at Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN).

Accordingly, the violations at EVN have been and are being dealt with decisively and thoroughly. Chairman of the Board of Members of EVN, Mr. Dao Van Hung, has resigned from his position; Mr. Hoang Quoc Vuong - former Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade was appointed Chairman of the Board of Members of EVN to replace Mr. Dao Van Hung; EVN Telecom was transferred to Viettel to take over and is currently being restored.

Regarding the disciplinary action against individuals at EVN who have committed violations, Mr. Vu Duc Dam said: The Government has established a disciplinary council chaired by the Minister of Home Affairs and the Minister of Industry and Trade as a member of the council. The council has reviewed the documents submitted by EVN and other relevant agencies to clarify the responsibilities and violations of the former chairman of the board of members as well as other members of the EVN leadership.

According to Mr. Dam, this November the council will officially meet to draw conclusions and will have official information to the public./.
