Luc Nien Citadel, Thien Nhan Mountain
(Baonghean.vn).Luc Nien Citadel, also known as Luc Hoa, is located on Dong Chu Mountain (Nam Kim Commune - Nam Dan - Nghe An) and was built by the Lam Son army of Binh Dinh King Le Loi in the years 1424 - 1425. The citadel was built of stone, more than 10 miles long.
To go up to Thanh Luc Nien, one must pass through the steep and high Truong Thanh. On both sides of the citadel, there are two streams of clear water that converge and flow along the stone path, then pour down into a deep gorge. The water flows down from a height of about 20m, creating white foam. From afar, it looks like a white cloth, so people call it Boc Bo waterfall (now Ho Thanh waterfall).
Thien Nhan Mountain is a mountain that stretches across many localities of Nghe An province. From afar, the mountain looks like a herd of galloping horses, so Thien Nhan is also called the Horse Cave; furthermore, the mountain has 999 peaks, so people also call it the Thousand Mountain.
Previously, Thien Nhan was mainly bare hills, today it is covered by vast pine forests. Especially at the foot of the mountain, people grow many fruit trees, especially lemons. Khanh Son, Nam Kim, Nam Loc, Nam Tan communes have thousands of hectares of lemons, creating commodity products to increase income for households. Notably, the off-season lemon variety often has high yield, delicious fruit, and is favored by consumers. As two important relics recording the mark of Lam Son insurgents defeating the Ming invaders in the 15th century, currently, Luc Nien Citadel - Thien Nhan Mountain is an attractive tourist destination for visitors to Nam Dan.
