Thanh Luong and Tuyet Dung won the Vietnam Golden Ball 2014
Two players Pham Thanh Luong and Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung have surpassed their rivals to win the 2014 Golden Ball - the most prestigious individual award in Vietnamese football. With convincing performances last year, midfielders Nguyen Tuan Anh and Le Hoai Luong also won the titles of best young male and female players of 2014.

On the evening of April 13, in Ho Chi Minh City, the 2014 Vietnam Golden Ball Award Ceremony took place. Accordingly, with 255 points received, midfielder Pham Thanh Luong surpassed Van Quyet (180 points) and Cong Vinh (126 points) to win the 2014 Vietnam Golden Ball for men.
This is the third time the player nicknamed “Luong Di” has received this noble title after 2009 and 2011. This award is completely worthy for Thanh Luong, especially after what this player showed at the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014.

Thanh Luong was not the only player named at this award ceremony. In the women's category, midfielder Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung of Ha Nam surpassed the other two candidates, Dang Thi Kieu Trinh and Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet, to win the 2014 Vietnam Women's Golden Ball. Specifically, Tuyet Dung received 223 points, ranking above Kieu Trinh - 151 points and Minh Nguyet - 129 points.

In the title of best young male player of the year, midfielder Nguyen Tuan Anh was named. The HA.GL player received 49 votes. Tuan Anh's teammate Nguyen Cong Phuong ranked 2nd, with 34 votes. Vo Huy Toan (SHB Da Nang) was 1 vote behind Cong Phuong, so he ranked 3rd.

Meanwhile, striker Le Hoai Luong of Ho Chi Minh City won the title of best young female player of the year. Striker Abass Dieng of B.BD was awarded the title of best foreign player of 2014.
