Young volunteers harvest rice to help people escape floods

(Baonghean.vn) - The recent heavy rains have flooded rice fields in many localities in the province. In order to help people harvest rice in time to avoid floods, on September 8 and 9, 2012, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union mobilized more than 200 Youth Union members from the Business Union and Nghe An College of Tourism and Commerce to help people in Hung Thong and Hung Tan communes, Hung Nguyen district. With the spirit of volunteerism and initiative of the youth, more than 5 hectares of flooded rice were harvested and transported to shore in time.
