Vinh City: The 5th Congress of Exemplary Veterans

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of September 9, the Vinh City Veterans Association organized the 5th Congress of Exemplary Veterans (2009-2014 period). Attending were comrade Vo Viet Thanh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee.

Implementing the emulation movement of Exemplary Veterans, over the past 5 years, the Vinh City Veterans Association has mobilized members to voluntarily donate over 41,467 square meters of land, crops and assets on land, contributing 3.4 billion VND to build new rural areas.

In the economic development movement, the Association mobilized members to donate 24 billion VND to the comradeship fund, contributing to reducing the rate of poor members to 0.1%. In addition, the Association coordinated with the Youth Union to train and introduce 661 outstanding youth union members to the Party.

At the congress, Nghe An Province Veterans Association awarded certificates of merit to 3 groups and 15 individuals. Vinh City People's Committee and Vinh City Veterans Association awarded certificates of merit to 23 groups and 32 individuals with outstanding achievements in exemplary veteran movements.
