Vinh City completes mass testing for the entire population
(Baonghean.vn) - After taking samples from 288,923 people, health authorities discovered 108 pooled samples from 450 people suspected of being infected with Covid-19.
On the afternoon of August 26, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of the Department of Health, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghe An province, said that the large-scale testing campaign in Vinh City had ended.
According to a quick report, this campaign started from the evening of August 23 to the end of the evening of August 25. During these two days, medical staff took samples from 288,923 people out of a total of more than 343,500 people residing or temporarily residing in Vinh City, reaching a rate of 84%. Of the remaining 16%, some were tested for services, others were tested due to being related to previous cases. Therefore, the actual number can be estimated at nearly 90%. After being collected, the samples were tested by PCR and rapid antigen tests.

Through this screening, 108 pooled samples (from a total of 450 people) were initially found to be suspected of being infected with Covid-19. All suspected samples were sent to Nghe An CDC for testing using the RT-CPR method. By noon on August 26, 11 cases had been confirmed (4 cases in Nghi Phu, 3 cases in Quang Trung, 3 cases in Vinh Tan and 1 case in Hung Chinh).

From June 13 to now, the province has recorded 1,127 Covid-19 patients in 21 localities: Vinh City: 334, Quynh Luu: 143, Yen Thanh: 130, Ky Son: 60, Dien Chau: 82, Tuong Duong: 29, Nghi Loc: 52, Hung Nguyen: 43, Que Phong: 40, Nam Dan: 45, Hoang Mai: 20, Cua Lo: 35, Tan Ky: 23, Anh Son: 13, Do Luong: 25, Con Cuong: 12, Quy Hop: 13, Thanh Chuong: 13, Thai Hoa: 06, Nghia Dan: 08, Quy Chau: 01.
