Vinh City: Garbage is backlog again

According to our records, the situation of garbage congestion has been happening for the past 3 days on main roads such as Le Hong Phong, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Quang Trung, Nguyen Truong To, Dinh Cong Trang, Nguyen Sy Sach... (Vinh City). Everywhere there are garbage trucks piled up; garbage even spills onto the roadside, the stench is strong. A huge amount of garbage has been accumulating all over Vinh City for the past 3 days, spreading everywhere and giving off a smell that makes people extremely upset.
The reason for the backlog of garbage in Vinh City is that the people of Nghi Yen Commune (Nghi Loc District) blocked the road to prevent the garbage trucks of Nghe An Urban Environment One Member Co., Ltd. from dumping garbage at the Solid Waste Treatment Complex. The people demanded adequate compensation for nearly 23 hectares of agricultural land worth 40 billion VND.
According to Mr. Dang Van Binh - Deputy Director of Nghe An Urban Environment One Member Co., Ltd., we are also very worried about the situation of garbage accumulation in the city in the past few days. Because Nghi Yen residents blocked our company's vehicles from entering the landfill. They asked Nghe An province to compensate properly and build a resettlement area to avoid pollution from this landfill. Currently, the city discharges about 350m3 of garbage every day.3Garbage, if this amount of garbage is not removed within the next two days, we will spray biological products to remove the stench, then temporarily cover the area with tarpaulin to reduce environmental pollution.

Faced with the above situation, the province has directed Vinh City, Nghi Loc District and related units to hold a meeting with the people tomorrow, July 2, to discuss solutions. Also according to Mr. Dang Van Binh: If the province and Vinh City hold a meeting with the people and agree to continue dumping garbage, the company will mobilize 100% of its workers to concentrate on solving the backlog of garbage within one day.
This evening, July 1, Nghe An MTDT One Member Co., Ltd. sprayed biological products on the garbage to limit the stench and prevent possible disease outbreaks.
