Vinh City strengthens management of centralized livestock slaughter

(Baonghean.vn) - In order to strengthen the management of livestock slaughtering activities in the area, on the morning of January 29, Vinh City People's Committee organized the implementation of centralized livestock slaughtering management with the participation of functional units, ward and commune authorities, market management boards, and livestock slaughtering businesses in the area.

Currently, in Vinh city, there are 262 households slaughtering livestock, of which only 53 households bring livestock and slaughter them centrally. With the goal of bringing 100% of livestock consumed in Vinh city to centralized slaughterhouses, ensuring food hygiene and safety, minimizing environmental pollution, creating clean and safe products for people, the city directs wards and communes to effectively implement the centralized slaughterhouse project to strengthen management and direct planning, and prepare for investment in building new facilities.

The interdisciplinary inspection team will strengthen inspection of livestock slaughtering and trading activities, strictly handle violations according to regulations, and coordinate with market management boards to control circulation in the area and markets. Focus on promoting propaganda and mobilization so that by February 5, 2015, all households engaged in livestock slaughtering will sign a commitment and strictly comply with regulations on livestock slaughtering and trading.

The conference also discussed measures to remove obstacles at concentrated slaughterhouses to operate at full capacity and ensure environmental hygiene.
