Vinh City organizes Hung Kings' Commemoration Ceremony
(Baonghean.vn) - Together with the people of the whole country turning to the homeland of the Hung Kings to commemorate the origin of the nation, this morning, March 31 (ie the 10th day of the third lunar month), at the historical and cultural relic of Hong Son Temple, Vinh City solemnly held the 2012 Hung Kings' Commemoration Incense Offering Ceremony. Attending the ceremony were comrade Thai Van Hang - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of departments, branches, provincial level and Vinh City along with a large number of people and tourists from all over.
On the Hung Kings' Anniversary, the weather was rainy, but from early morning, people made pilgrimages to Hong Son Temple in Vinh City to offer offerings, light incense sticks and perform spiritual rituals. The Hung Kings' Anniversary was opened with a performance of cultural performances and traditional martial arts.
On behalf of the festival's organizing committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh - Vice Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee read a speech praising the merits of the Hung Kings; praising the resilient and heroic fighting spirit of generations of Vietnamese people. Next, the leaders of the province and Vinh City offered incense, flowers, and offerings to commemorate the merits of the Hung Kings. The incense offering ceremony was conducted solemnly in a solemn atmosphere.

The Hung Kings' Commemoration Ceremony is a special spiritual and cultural activity of the people of Vinh City, towards the origin of the nation, to express our people's gratitude to the Hung Kings who built the country and to pray for national peace, people's peace, and for every family to be warm, prosperous and happy; it is a symbol of the strength of national unity, contributing to educating the tradition of patriotism and our responsibility to the Hung Kings and our predecessors who built and defended the country. This is also a meaningful activity in preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the nation.
This year's memorial service has two parts: the ceremony and the festival, imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity. The ceremony takes place solemnly, imbued with national identity with a procession, incense offering, reading of the funeral oration, and the offering of banh chung and banh giay.
