On October 11, Ba Dinh District Police (Hanoi) announced that they had detained Nguyen Thi Thuy (born in 1984, registered residence in Hai An, Hai Hau, Nam Dinh) to investigate the act of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

Previously, at 8:30 p.m. on October 8, Kim Ma Ward Police, Ba Dinh Districtreceive newsMr. M (a phone store employee in Kim Ma ward) reported that a female subject came into the store to ask to buy a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 phone, worth about 34 million VND.

When paying, the subject showed a photo of the successful transfer to the store's account. However, when checking the account, the money had not been received, suspecting that the photo was fake, Mr. M reported it to the police. Kim Ma ward police went to the store to take the subject and the evidence to the headquarters for clarification.

At the police station, the subject was identified as Nguyen Thi Thuy. Due to needing money, she went online to research and used fake transfer images to appropriate property when buying a phone.

Currently, Ba Dinh District Police are consolidating the case file and handling the subject according to the law.
