In recent times, the image of traffic police in many localities has improved significantly. Avoid traffic police contact with money

In 2012, the Government Inspectorate and the World Bank (WB) conducted a survey: “Corruption from the perspective of civil servants, citizens and businesses”. The research results showed that the traffic police force was the sector with the highest corruption rate. This result shocked many traffic police officers and soldiers, and became a hot topic on many forums.

However, the results of that study are also a “medicine” to help the traffic police force in some provinces and cities to make efforts to change their image, such as Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh… In 2013, instead of focusing on fines, Hanoi “released” female traffic police to regulate traffic and propagate the Traffic Law to the people. This action was soon applied by many localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh…

Next, the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police continued to equip loudspeaker systems to propagate to the people and install cameras to impose "cold" fines.

According to Colonel Dao Vinh Thang, Head of the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police, in addition to sending female traffic police and applying science and technology to handle violations, the deployment of force 141 to suppress crime on the streets has received the approval and support of the majority of the capital's people.

In the coming time, the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police will continue to improve the effectiveness of the 141 model, expand the area to the suburbs, focus on handling violations of speeding, carrying weapons while participating in traffic...

It is known that after installing loudspeaker systems at intersections to propagate the Traffic Law to people in the capital, up to now, 8 provinces have learned this model.

Colonel Dao Vinh Thang said that he will continue to apply science and technology to operations and handling of violations, minimizing traffic police's contact with money.

In 2014, Hanoi was equipped with 100 cameras to handle traffic violations. Through the camera system on Highways 1 and 5, the authorities handled more than 1,000 violations.

As long as people "complain", there must be change.

On January 23, speaking with Tien Phong reporter, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong - Deputy Minister of Public Security said that as long as people still complain about the image of traffic police officers, there must be a plan to improve and change. According to Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, the recording and surveillance of traffic police forces will be carried out by the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Public Security.

Accordingly, the monitoring of traffic police activities by cameras from public to secret aims to strengthen the rectification of the activities of this force, especially related to the process of patrolling, controlling and handling violations on the road. If any traffic police officer violates while performing official duties, he will be notified in writing to the police directors of the provinces and cities so that the head of this force in the locality will be jointly responsible.

"In addition to using cameras to record traffic police, heads and deputy heads of traffic police departments and deputy directors of local police must regularly go out to inspect the activities of traffic police officers and soldiers to promptly praise and criticize, and at the same time grasp the advantages and disadvantages to have timely handling plans" - Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong said.
