Inspectors discovered violations of 125 billion VND

On October 15, the Government Inspectorate held a press conference to inform about important results in inspection work, handling complaints and denunciations, and preventing and combating corruption in the third quarter of 2013.
Accordingly, in the third quarter of 2013, Inspectors of ministries, branches and localities conducted 690 administrative inspections, completed 369 direct inspections, discovered violations with the amount of 125 billion VND, 985.4 hectares of land; recommended the recovery of 56.2 billion VND and 972 hectares of land; handled administrative actions against 163 groups and 236 individuals; transferred 7 cases and 9 people to the investigation agency for consideration.
Also in the third quarter, the specialized inspection force conducted 42,513 inspections and checks on the law compliance of 73,614 organizations and individuals, detecting 69,048 organizations and individuals with violations; issued 25,642 decisions on administrative sanctions with a total amount of 44.5 billion VND; recommended the recovery of 24.4 billion VND, and imposed administrative sanctions of 72.8 billion VND.
The Government Inspectorate also conducted an inspection of the responsibility for implementing the law on complaints, denunciations and anti-corruption in Bac Kan province; inspected, urged and guided the implementation of legal regulations on inspection, anti-corruption in 4 units (Dong Nai and Dak Lak provinces, the Chemical Group and Vietnam Airlines Corporation).
Regarding the settlement of complaints and denunciations, state administrative agencies at all levels received 47,348 citizens with 16,937 cases; there were 708 large groups. In general, the number of citizens coming to complain in the third quarter of 2013 decreased compared to the second quarter of 2013 in terms of the number of complaints and the number of large groups.
State administrative agencies at all levels have handled 21,477 petitions out of a total of 27,593 complaints and denunciations received; resolved 2,583/5,088 complaints and denunciations under their authority, reaching 51%. Thereby, they have recommended to recover 1,316 million VND, 10 hectares of land for the State, returned 207,350 million VND, 16.7 hectares of land of all kinds to citizens; returned rights to 396 people, recommended administrative handling of 19 people; transferred 17 cases to the investigation agency.

In the fourth quarter of 2013, the Government Inspectorate continued to step up inspections of public duty performance responsibilities; proactively proposed surprise inspections when detecting signs of corruption, and reported to the Prime Minister; performed well the work of receiving citizens and handling petitions; focused on promptly resolving petitions, complaints and denunciations as soon as they arose, and coordinated with competent authorities to properly resolve complicated complaints and denunciations, especially those involving large numbers of people.../
