Removing difficulties and stabilizing the lives of resettled people
On the morning of March 17, the Management Board of Hydropower Project 2 held a press meeting. Attending were leaders of the Propaganda Department.Provincial Party Committee, Department of Information and Communications, Journalists Association and representatives of leaders and reporters of press agencies in the area.
The Management Board of Hydropower Project 2 is implementing the construction of 2 projects: Ban Ve Hydropower Plant and Nam Mo Hydropower Plant. Ban Ve Hydropower Plant with a capacity of 320MW has generated electricity and connected both units to the national grid. It is expected that by September 2011, the project will be officially completed and generate full design capacity. However, at present, the Thanh Chuong resettlement area, people are still facing many difficulties, their lives have not stabilized, some households have returned to production in the reservoir area. Representatives of leaders and reporters of press agencies requested the Management Board of Hydropower Project 2 to continue to coordinate with relevant departments, branches and localities to thoroughly implement resettlement support policies such as production land, domestic water, support for plant and animal breeds, techniques... so that people can quickly stabilize their lives.
