Strengthening the Nghe people's relationship in the Southern land

Attending the launching conference of the Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City were members of the Party Central Committee: Thai Thanh Quy - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, Chairman of the People's Council of Nghe An province; Nguyen Dinh Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Dak Lak province; Nguyen Manh Cuong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Binh Phuoc province; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, leaders of districts in Nghe An province, and a large number of Nghe An people living, studying and working in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City was established to connect the children of Nghe An province who are working, studying and living in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces; to create a sense of neighborliness, maintain solidarity, long-term relationships and strengthen love for the homeland as well as exchange experiences, help each other in life, contribute to maintaining and promoting the tradition of studiousness, overcoming difficulties, the spirit of striving to improve oneself, contributing to building the homeland and the country increasingly rich and strong.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province congratulated the launching ceremony of the Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City and said that the event is very meaningful for Nghe An people in general and Nghe An people living, studying and working in Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that although Nghe An and Ho Chi Minh City are geographically separated by more than 1,400 km, they are very close emotionally. Nghe An is the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh, and Ho Chi Minh City is the place named after him. In Ho Chi Minh City, there are also many Nghe An people living, studying, working and contributing to the development of Ho Chi Minh City.

Wherever they go, Nghe An people always carry with them the character and culture of Nghe An people, the will and aspiration to rise up and contribute to society. Another special thing is the spirit of solidarity and attachment of Nghe An people. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Nghe An organizations and associations in Ho Chi Minh City have united to share, actively support, and help more than 8,000 local families and organized many free flights to bring more than 2,200 Nghe An people back home safely.

In addition, Nghe An associations and organizations in Ho Chi Minh City always care about and turn to their homeland. Many Nghe An businesses and investors have returned to invest in their homeland, contributing to the development of the province, sharing with those in difficult circumstances when facing natural disasters, storms, floods, and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, the launching event of the Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City is very meaningful, serving as a center connecting Nghe An people in Ho Chi Minh City, a bridge to promote the image of their homeland, and a bridge connecting Nghe An Associations in the southern provinces.

At the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung also briefed the Nghe An community in Ho Chi Minh City on the socio-economic situation in the province. In recent times, despite being affected by natural disasters and epidemics, Nghe An's socio-economic development results have been very positive. The province's growth in the period 2014 - 2019 reached 7.28%; in 2021 it increased by 6.2%; in the first 6 months of 2022 it reached 8.44%.

In addition, the annual budget revenue reached and exceeded the assigned estimate; in 2021, it reached nearly 19,000 billion VND; in the first 8 months of 2022 alone, it reached over 13,400 billion VND, reaching 89.4% of the estimate. Investment attraction in recent years has begun to increase, especially foreign investment attraction; in the first 6 months of 2022, Nghe An's FDI attraction entered the TOP 10 nationwide. The work of building new rural areas, cultural - social fields, ensuring social security, foreign affairs, national defense - security have all achieved positive results. And contributing to the achieved results is the important role and contribution of Nghe An people living far from home, especially those living, studying and working in Ho Chi Minh City.

In the coming time, Nghe An province is actively implementing the task of summarizing 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 26 of the Politburo, on that basis, drawing lessons and proposing to the Politburo to issue new mechanisms and motivations for Nghe An to develop. In addition, the province is completing and submitting for appraisal the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; Focusing on solving bottlenecks for the province's development, especially strategic infrastructure projects on deep-water ports and airports; Expanding the territorial space of Vinh city; Focusing on administrative reform, improving the investment environment, focusing on digital transformation. Therefore, in addition to the efforts of the Party Committee, Government and People in the province, it is necessary to have more attention from Nghe An's children far from home, including uncles, brothers and sisters in Ho Chi Minh City.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung thanked the Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City for their attention and support for Nghe An province in the past time. Hopefully, with their love for their homeland, you will continue to be attached to the province in the coming time. The province is committed to creating favorable conditions for the Association and the children of Nghe An to continue to connect and develop; support intellectuals, businessmen, and enterprises, especially Nghe An people, to return to their hometown to invest and work; and will actively accompany Nghe An people in Ho Chi Minh City and other regions across the country.

Receiving the direction, expectations and trust of the leaders of Nghe An province, Mr. Nguyen Duc Quang - Chairman of the Nghe An Association in Ho Chi Minh City said that from now on, the Association will be a reliable contact and connection address for Nghe An compatriots in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces that do not have an Association. The Association is also a bridge between Nghe An compatriots living, studying and working in Ho Chi Minh City with the Provincial Party Committee and the government of Nghe An province; is a representative organization of the Nghe An citizen community in Ho Chi Minh City in foreign affairs activities with local communities and the Nghe An compatriot liaison committee in localities nationwide.

Earlier on the morning of September 10, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, and leaders of Nghe An Association of Fellow Countrymen came to offer flowers and incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at Ben Nha Rong, where Uncle Ho left to find a way to save the country.
