'Pathetic', That's What US Advisor Said About Macron and the French Military
The combined strength of the French and British militaries is four times less than the force Russia could deploy in Ukraine, former Pentagon adviser Douglas MacGregor said in an interview with YouTube channel Deep Dive.
In late February, French President Emmanuel Macron said that EU countries could send troops to Ukraine. He also pointed out that Paris has no “limits and red lines” when it comes to supporting Kiev. Later, former British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace noted that the British military could also join the fighting in Ukraine.

“Britain is now a mere imitation of a great power. There are 72,000 men in the British army. Before you think that the British and French will go into Ukraine as part of a NATO force, add that to the 120,000 French troops and the result is pathetic – it is not even a quarter of the force that the Russians could throw into battle,” said former Pentagon adviser Douglas MacGregor.
According to the expert, the weakness of the NATO joint force is also that it is completely disunified and does not have a single command. The analyst added that the US military is not doing any better, noting that both the US and the EU need to throw away their “fake faces”.
“Nobody wants to admit the important thing – we made a mistake by underestimating Russia. We need a new course of action. That is to end this conflict as quickly as possible,” Mr. MacGregor concluded.
