Recently, due to being busy leadingVietnam National TeamTo compete in the third qualifying round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, head coach Park Hang-seo assigned assistant Kim Han-yoon to coordinate with members of the coaching staff to implement a training plan for the Vietnam U23 team.

Therefore, on the first day of returning to take over the Vietnam U23 team, Coach Park Hang-seo almost only stood outside to carefully observe the training session. According to the plan, on October 17, the U23 Vietnam team will have an international friendly match against the U23 Kyrgystan team. This is also the second international friendly match of the U23 Vietnam team during the training session in the UAE, and is also a match to review the squad and playing style before finalizing the list down to 23 players.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper coach Kim Hyun-tae pulled Van Toan aside, talked to him for a while, then suggested that Toan practice with the two remaining goalkeepers, Quan Van Chuan and Trinh Xuan Hoang.

For the first time in his career, Van Toan was sent to the field by coach Park in the match against Oman in the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup.
