Coach Park Hang-seo and his team are ready for the goal at the 2022 AFC U23 Championship Qualifiers

Up to now, the Vietnam U23 team has maintained its full strength as no player has suffered a serious injury. Midfielder Nguyen Hai Long was injured and substituted in the recent friendly match with U23 Kyrgyzstan, but only suffered a soft tissue injury and has returned to training as usual. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Van Toan suffered a shoulder injury but it was mild and did not affect his ability to compete in the upcoming 2022 AFC U23 Qualifiers.

After the friendly match with U23 Kyrgyzstan, Coach Park Hang-seo spent the morning of October 19 for fitness expert Cedric Roger to analyze the GPS data collected at the match for the players. With this activity tracking device, the parameters clearly reflected the performance of each player through speed and endurance indicators. Depending on the playing position, players will be required to strengthen different indicators. Players who are weak in which indicators will be strengthened in that indicator to meet the professional requirements of Coach Park Hang-seo.

This morning (October 20), Coach Park Hang-seo will announce the official list of 23 players participating in the 2022 AFC U23 Championship Qualifiers. That same evening, the entire team will depart for Kyrgyzstan on a flight taking off at 11:45 p.m. local time.

It is known that the weather in Kyrgyzstan is quite cold with temperatures fluctuating around 10 degrees Celsius. Therefore, before the team went to training, the VFF had fully prepared warm-keeping equipment, medicine, ginger tea... for coach Park Hang-seo and his team. Team leader Doan Anh Tuan also flew to Kyrgyzstan 1 day in advance to conduct pre-tournament work, work with the local organizing committee on the team's schedule, check training conditions as well as work with the hotel on check-in procedures and plan the daily menu.

According to the latest announcement from AFC, the match times of Group I have been adjusted compared to the published schedule. Specifically, the matches will take place at 4:00 p.m. local time (5:00 p.m. Vietnam time).

Vietnam U23 team will play their opening match on October 27 against Chinese Taipei U23 and end the 2022 AFC U23 Championship Qualifiers with a match against Myanmar U23 on November 2.
