According to the regulations of the 2020 National U17 Football Tournament, there are 28 participating teams. The U17 SLNA team is in Group B with the U17 teams of Quang Nam, SHB Da Nang, Thanh Hoa and the host Thua Thien - Hue. Group A includes the host U17 PVF, Hanoi, Nam Dinh, Hai Phong, Than Quang Ninh, Viettel.

Group C includes host U17 HAGL, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Kon Tum, Phu Yen, Dinh. Group D includes U17 B. Binh Duong, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Saigon. Group E includes U17 teams An Giang, Can Tho, Dong Thap, Nutifood Academy, Long An and Ho Chi Minh City.

The qualifying round will take place in two rounds, the first leg from July 10 to July 20 and the second leg from July 23 to August 2, 2020. The final round will select the 8 strongest teams, including the host team, scheduled to take place from August 10 to August 19.

With U17 SLNA, this year the team is led by coach Le Ky Phuong, assistant coaches Pham Van Quyen, Le Ky Dai, Le Manh Hung. The members of the U17 SLNA team this year are the faces who won the U15 championship in 2018 with coach Le Ky Phuong and won the U15 championship in 2019 with coach Phan Nhu Thuat.
