89 more Vietnamese workers return from war zone in Libya
According to data from the Department of Overseas Labor Management (Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs), as of the afternoon of August 17, 89 more Vietnamese workers returned home safely from Libya. These are workers from the Tripoli war zone who have moved out of the dangerous area to leave Libya through the Ras Ajdir border gate (between the Libyan-Tunisian border) to Tunisia to return to Vietnam.

Previously, from the beginning of 2013, this group of workers went to Libya to work through Vietnamese enterprises such as Viet Nhat Company, VTC Corp, Vinaconexmec Company and Sona Company.
Thus, as of August 17, the total number of workers from Libya returning to Vietnam was 1,290 people.
Also today, 38 other workers have been divided into 2 groups and have left Libya and are waiting to return home from Tunisia and Egypt. These workers will arrive at Vietnam airport tomorrow (August 18).
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quynh, Director of the Department of Overseas Labor Management, said that in reality, because Vietnamese workers work at construction sites in Libya in small groups, scattered over a large area, it is very difficult to support the organization of workers moving to the border of neighboring countries to transit back to their home country.
“Although the working group of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy in Libya and neighboring countries are making great efforts, the number of Vietnamese workers returning home in the coming days will not be as large as a few days ago,” said Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quynh.
It is expected that within the next 2 weeks, the remaining workers will continue to be repatriated on commercial flights of many different airlines./.
