(Baonghean)- In a strip of Nghe An, everywhere is beautiful, full of rustic love.
There is a land whose mountains, rivers, people, cultural traditions and history become a great value in the Vietnamese consciousness: Nam Dan!

The dense system of scenic relics, temple architecture, and especially the Kim Lien relic site... has truly been and is building up Nam Dan's position as a "recurring scenic spot".

That land of talented people is a rustic, familiar invitation imbued with the soul of the Vietnamese countryside with famous products: Nam Dan soy sauce, Nam Anh persimmons, Cau Don goat, Nam Nghia tamarind, Sa Nam beef noodle soup, Nam Thai hill chicken, Dai Hue green tea...

That's why, no matter the season or occasion, but any time you come to Nam Dan, you can immerse yourself in a sacred space, bathe your soul in the pure and simple village lifestyle, lull yourself with the folk song of the fabric guild in the misty smoke along the banks of the Lam River carrying heavy alluvium.

Coming to Nam Dan during this early Spring festival, remember to stop by the old Sa Nam market wharf with “two rows of beef rice noodles” which still remains on the wharf and boats, choose a rustic noodle shop near the Lam river bank, leisurely wait to enjoy a bowl of Sa Nam beef noodle soup which is always steaming hot, then slurp and sniff to feel this specialty with your mouth, nose and eyes. You can eat Sa Nam beef noodle soup until you are full, but the eagerness to enjoy it remains intact.

If you want to have a drink with your soulmate at the beginning of Spring, try Cau Don goat or Nam Nghia tamarind. Enjoying these specialties not only impresses the chef, but also gives you an unforgettable taste thanks to the fresh ingredients carefully selected from the stage of raising animals, the way of mixing the meat and the accompanying dishes such as vermicelli, banh muot, and local green vegetables.

However, what enhances and completes the unforgettable emotions of the unique cuisine of Nam Dan is the village space right there. If you love the ancient countryside of Nghe An, you should visit Bac Son village with the story of the ancient well that is hundreds of years old, with cool and sweet water all year round, and in the flood season, the alluvium turns the village fields red, and the water of the ancient Bac Son well is still crystal clear. The small, ancient village with the temple complex that has survived fierce wars and historical ups and downs is still quite intact. The cozy village space is filled with the fragrant scent of frangipani and magnolia flowers... spreading in the mossy temple grounds. Bac Son villagers love their hometown dearly, and every Spring there is a meeting of the village's descendants who gather from everywhere; the generations who grew up keeping the customs, knowing how to speak, and knowing how to greet strangers who come to visit the village...

Now, Nam Dan is bustling with the King Mai Temple Festival. When you come back to enjoy the festival, on the way to visit his mother's grave, stop at the foot of Dun Son, in the romantic setting of the soaring pine forest, and comfortably enjoy the specialty of Nam Thai hill chicken that has become famous in the "culinary village" in recent years. And, when leaving the festival, why not buy some soy sauce as a gift, as a promise to come back?!
