On July 5, information from the authorities of Dien Lien commune, Dien Chau district said that a drowning incident had just occurred in the area, causing the death of a 4-year-old child.

At around 5:00 p.m. on July 4, Vo Tien Phat (4 years old, in hamlet 10, Dien Lien commune, Dien Chau district) followed his parents to the field.
While his parents were working, Phat fell into a ditch. When the family discovered the incident, they rushed to pick him up and took him to the hospital for emergency treatment. That evening, Phat died.
Upon receiving the information, local authorities visited and encouraged the family.
