Pilot payment of pensions and social insurance benefits via post office

On October 5, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh agreed in principle for Vietnam Social Security (VSS) to coordinate with Vietnam Post Corporation to pilot a contract to manage and pay pensions and social insurance benefits through the postal system in a number of localities.

Vietnam Social Security needs to consider and make specific decisions to ensure safety, efficiency and benefits for those served by social insurance. At the end of 2012, Vietnam Social Security will summarize and evaluate the implementation of the pilot contract for management and payment of pensions and social insurance benefits to the postal system, and report to the Prime Minister.

Vietnam Social Security and Vietnam Post Corporation have signed a pilot contract to pay monthly social insurance benefits through the postal system. Accordingly, by the end of 2011, the two sides will carry out the pilot in Bac Kan, Lam Dong, Dak Nong, Phu Yen and Quang Tri.
