Pilot electric 4-wheel vehicle for carrying tourists

The Prime Minister agreed to pilot the operation of four-wheel electric vehicles to transport tourists in restricted areas.

The Prime Minister noted that the pilot will only be implemented on new vehicles that meet all technical safety and environmental protection requirements; and will be registered and inspected according to the law before being put into circulation. The pilot period will be 3 years.

The Prime Minister assigned the People's Committees of relevant provinces and cities to regulate the operating hours during the day and the routes allowed to operate in the area; note that the operation of the above vehicles must comply with the provisions of the road traffic law when participating in traffic; periodically every 6 months, organize a preliminary review and evaluation of the pilot results to draw experience for the next implementation.

The Ministry of Transport continues to review the need to use 4-wheeled vehicles with electric or gasoline engines to transport visitors to tourist sites in restricted areas according to the direction of the Prime Minister in Official Dispatch No. 2235/TTg-KTN dated December 13, 2016.
