(Baonghean) - Emulation is identified as a necessary factor, a driving force for development and an important measure to build and develop the socio-economy. Over the past 5 years, emulation movements in Nghe An have continued to spread widely in all aspects of social life, contributing to the development of the great national unity bloc. The unity and consensus of the government and people of Nghe An have brought about many great achievements, changing the local appearance, with the following highlights:

Firstly, in the economic field, many emulation movements have been effectively implemented, typically: "Collect correctly, collect fully, collect on time" to help exceed the budget estimate, contributing to increasing the annual budget revenue for the province. Emulation movements: "Quality, progress, safety, savings" of the Transport sector, "Skill training, good worker competition" to win the title of Golden Hand in construction, emulation movements "Innovation in management, technology, increasing productivity, product quality", "Good farmers in production and business" ... have been launched regularly and continuously in all levels, sectors, enterprises of all economic sectors, contributing to expanding the scale, improving production capacity and product quality. In particular, the emulation movement "Nghe An joins hands to build new countryside" has been supported by all classes of people, especially the land donation movement - a creative point for success in building new countryside.

From the emulation movement, many advanced models have been recognized and affirmed with many awards such as: Asia Regional Quality Award, Vietnam Golden Star, Golden Rose Cup, etc. These contributions have created a constantly improving economic appearance of Nghe An. The average GDP of the whole province in the 5-year period (2010 - 2015) reached 7.89%; GDP per capita in 2015 is estimated at 29 million VND, nearly 2 times higher than in 2010. The economic structure has shifted towards increasing the proportion of services and industry - construction, reducing the proportion of agriculture. Budget revenue has increased rapidly compared to the average of the previous 5-year period, in 2015 it is expected to reach 10,034 billion VND, 1.8 times higher than in 2010.

Second, in the cultural and social fields, emulation movements have been widely and deeply deployed and have achieved many great results. The emulation movement of “good teaching, good learning” in education has truly brought about many valuable results. Every year, the rate of students graduating from all levels, passing college and university entrance exams, the number of excellent students at the provincial level, excellent students at the national, regional and international levels has gradually increased and for many consecutive years has been at the top of the country. The emulation movements of “encouraging learning and talent” associated with the campaign to socialize education, build a “learning society” and “families of studiousness” have been widely deployed.

The health sector continues to promote the emulation movement of applying high technology in examination, treatment and health care for the people; the movement of "bowls of love porridge" and "love meals" for the poor. In particular, the emulation movement of "good medical ethics" over the past years has contributed to raising the awareness, responsibility, spirit and attitude of serving patients of the medical team.

The emulation movements of “hunger eradication, poverty reduction”, “gratitude”, etc. have received the attention of the entire political system since their launch. Up to now, 107 agencies and units have agreed to help 110 poor communes in the West with practical work such as building roads; improving learning conditions for students; and providing guidance on production methods to help people eliminate hunger and reduce poverty.

The provincial Fatherland Front has effectively implemented the movements "All people unite to build a cultural life". Trade unions at all levels have proactively organized and implemented the movements "Good workers, creative workers", etc. The Women's Union has promoted the movements "Women actively study, work creatively, build happy families", etc. The Veterans Association has simultaneously implemented the movements "Exemplary veterans, promoting the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers", etc., contributing to poverty reduction, improving the lives of veterans and contributing to the economic development of the locality. The emulation movements have brought about practical results, contributing to building a cultural homeland and villages, preventing social evils, and building increasingly strong agencies, units, and associations.

Third, in the work of Party building, the Provincial Party Committee has led and directed the promotion of the emulation movement "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh" associated with the implementation of Directive No. 17 - CT/TU dated December 3, 2013 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on strengthening discipline and administrative order in agencies and units in the province, attracting the attention and study and follow of all classes of people, cadres and Party members. In addition, the province has also actively implemented emulation movements such as: "Building a clean and strong Party organization", "Building cultural agencies and units", etc.

Fourthly, in the field of national defense and security, the provincial armed forces have actively promoted the movements "Emulation to Win", "Deserving of the title of Uncle Ho's soldiers", "For the security of the Fatherland", "People's Public Security implements Uncle Ho's 6 teachings", etc. The emulation movements have truly contributed effectively to the implementation of the tasks of building defense zones, building a solid national defense posture associated with a solid people's security posture, ready for combat.

In order for the emulation movement to truly spread, new models, good practices, and technical innovations to be increasingly popularized, applied, and replicated, propaganda, commendation, and reward work plays a very important role. Every year, the Provincial People's Committee organizes many conferences to commend and honor collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in emulation movements in various fields, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality. In the past 5 years, 1,449 mothers have been awarded and posthumously awarded the honorary title of "Heroic Vietnamese Mother", 958 cases have received Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, 128 Provincial Emulation Fighters, etc.

During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh once said: “Competition is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation, and those who emulate are the most patriotic.” That thought of President Ho Chi Minh has been, is, and will always be the red thread running through all revolutionary actions of all levels and sectors, inspiring the will and belief of all cadres, party members, workers, soldiers, and people nationwide, creating an enthusiastic, cheerful atmosphere, striving to compete in work, study, and contribute to the cause of national development.

Nghe An is on the path of innovation, joining the general integration trend of the country. The year 2015 has many important milestones: 70 years of August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, 85 years of Nghe Tinh Soviet, 985 years of the name Nghe An province, the 18th Provincial Party Congress, towards the 12th National Congress of the Party. The achievements of the province in the 2010 - 2015 term in particular and the long history and tradition of the people of Nghe An in general are the premise, a solid launching pad for the government and people of Nghe An to continue to compete for many achievements, to accelerate, strongly and comprehensively promote the local socio-economy, making Nghe An soon become an industrial province; a center of finance, trade, tourism, education - training, science - technology, health, culture, sports, high-tech industry of the North Central region.
