Candidates review the exam |
Associate Professor, Dr. Mai Van Trinh, Director of the Department of Testing and Education Quality Assessment (Ministry of Education and Training) said that the use of the 20-point scale has two purposes: to consider high school graduation, and at the same time to serve as a basis for universities and colleges to use in enrollment.
In order to help universities and colleges select candidates that are suitable for their current diverse resources, training quality, reputation and class, the exam results must have a high degree of differentiation.
To have differentiation, the quality of the test plays an important role, at the same time the invigilation and grading are also factors that directly affect the test results of the candidates. Therefore, expanding from the 10-point scale to the 20-point scale will help the grading work differentiate the test results of the candidates in more detail, supporting the admission work of the schools. For the above reason, the Ministry of Education and Training advocates using the 20-point scale in the national high school exam.
The special point in the 2015 national high school exam is that the Ministry of Education and Training calculates the Encouragement score to consider graduation recognition for candidates up to a maximum score of 8 points.
