According to a source from Nghe An Newspaper, rescue ship CN09 with registration number BP 061901 departed from Port of Hai Doi 2, Cua Hoi at 6:00 p.m., immediately upon receiving information that fishing boat with registration number NA-90554TS of fisherman Dau Thanh Kinh, Nghi Xuan commune, Nghi Loc district found the body of pilot Tran Quang Khai.

At this time, the weather in the Nghe An sea area was bad, with strong winds and rough seas. It was very difficult for the fishing boat and the border rescue ship to approach each other because the fishing boat was much lower than the rescue ship. In the conditions of big waves and strong winds, it was very difficult to move the body of pilot Tran Quang Khai to the rescue ship.
It is known that ship CN 09 is the most modern and powerful ship in Nghe An today, can withstand strong waves and winds and is a professional rescue ship of Nghe An border guards.

On June 15, a fishing boat owned by fisherman Pham Van Le found and rescued pilot Nguyen Huu Cuong. The search for the body of pilot Tran Quang Khai was fully deployed by the Ministry of National Defense with the participation of more than 100 ships, aircraft and more than 1,000 people.
Notably, at noon on June 16, a CASA reconnaissance aircraft went missing while searching for the SU30 pilot at Bach Long Vi beach. At noon on June 17, search forces salvaged the CASA wreckage ashore.
