Along with that, the graduation consideration also considers the 12th grade academic performance of each student.
The Ministry of Education and Training has just announced a Circular on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Regulations on High School Graduation Exams.
Accordingly, the high school graduation exam consists of 4 subjects; of which 2 are compulsory subjects: Math and Literature; 2 subjects are chosen by candidates from among the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Foreign Language.
Time for each subject: Math and Literature: 120 minutes; History and Geography: 90 minutes; Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Foreign Language: 60 minutes. Thus, the time for Math and Literature has been reduced from 150 minutes to 120 minutes.
Regarding the organization of the Examination Council, the Director of the Department of Education and Training decides to establish Examination Councils to carry out the preparation and organization of the examination.
The regulations also stipulate that each candidate has a registration number. The candidate's registration number consists of 6 digits and is numbered in increasing order until the number of candidates in the Examination Council is exhausted, ensuring that no candidate in the Examination Council has the same registration number.
In case the Examination Council has two or more high schools, the preparation of the list of candidates for each examination room shall be carried out according to the provisions at Points a and b, Clause 2 of this Article for each school.
Regarding the arrangement of examination rooms, they are arranged according to subjects; in the examination room, there must be a minimum distance of 1.2 meters between two candidates sitting next to each other in a horizontal row; each examination room has a maximum of 24 candidates, except for the last examination room of the Examination Council, which can accommodate up to 28 candidates.
For examination councils with two or more high schools, candidates from different schools must not be placed in one examination room, except for the last examination room.
For Foreign Languages, candidates taking different Foreign Languages exams are placed in the same exam room but must take separate exams for each subject.
The regulations also add a number of subjects exempted from the exam: Grade 12 students selected to participate in international or regional competitions in science and technology, sports, culture and arts.
The regulations also stipulate that the graduation consideration also considers the academic performance in grade 12 of each student. Specifically: Graduation score = total score of 4 exams + incentive points (if any) divided by 4, then add the average score of the entire grade 12 year and divide by 2.
Graduation ranking score = Average score of 4 exams + Average score of the whole 12th grade year then divided by 2./.
