Quan Hanh Town (Nghi Loc): Worthy of being a central urban area

(Baonghean) - Implementing the Resolution of the Town Party Congress for the 2010-2015 term, the Party Committee and people of Quan Hanh Town (Nghi Loc) have achieved important results in many fields. The economy continues to grow well, with an average growth rate of 12.1% per year; per capita income reaches 36 million VND/year, the material and spiritual life of the people is constantly improving, contributing positively to making Quan Hanh Town become the urban center of the district.

In terms of economy, combining crop development with livestock and aquaculture, some intensive models of peanuts, corn and vegetables bring high economic value, contributing to the total annual food output reaching over 1,600 tons; agricultural production value reaching 19.89 billion VND, an increase of 3.69 billion VND compared to the previous term. The livestock sector has developed quite well, expanding the scale of livestock farms.

Up to now, there are 234 service business households in the area; people have taken advantage of the economic center of Nghi Loc district, boldly built many business kiosks; continued to receive support for the market upgrade project with a capital of nearly 1.6 billion VND, creating favorable conditions for people to trade and do business, bringing in higher revenue than before... During the term, 40/40 basic construction works have been implemented to serve socio-economic development in the area with a total cost of 64.321 billion VND; of which the town budget is 18.93 billion VND; people contributed over 1 billion VND.

With its location at the gateway to Vinh City, Quan Hanh Town has paid due attention to the management and protection of environmental resources. Up to now, the procedures for granting and exchanging residential and production land certificates for the people have been basically completed. At the same time, the town's general planning steps have been carried out, remaining residential land has been handled, land management has been strengthened, and encroachment cases have been promptly handled; and the work of clearing land for key projects such as National Highway 1A and environmental sanitation has been focused on.

The socialization of education in the three education systems has been given attention. Over the past five years, people have contributed 3 billion VND to build facilities, purchase equipment for teaching and learning, and more than 100 million VND for education promotion. Every year, schools have achieved the title of advanced and excellent advanced, primary schools have achieved national standards at level 2; the number of excellent teachers in the province and excellent students at all levels has increased...

The Party Committee pays attention to vocational training, career orientation, and job creation associated with poverty reduction. At the end of 2014, the whole town had 3,384 workers of working age, the rate of trained workers reached 58%, creating new jobs for 393 workers, of which 179 went to work abroad; the average income per capita in 2015 was estimated at 36 million VND; the poverty rate was 3.06% (in 2010 it was 6.53%)...

In the work of Party building, the Party Committee and Party cells have made many efforts to innovate methods in propaganda, mobilization and gathering the masses, the quality of activities of the mass mobilization bloc from urban to hamlet has been improved day by day. Strengthening leadership to consolidate national defense, maintaining political security, social order and safety; building strong and excellently strong Party organizations, government, Fatherland Front and mass organizations.

Entering the 2015 - 2020 term, Quan Hanh Town set out the following basic goals: Average economic growth in 5 years reaching 12.2%; average income per capita by 2020 reaching 58.7 million VND; total production value reaching over 536 billion VND (at 2010 prices); total food output reaching 1,500 tons...

Agricultural development in the trend of urbanization, expanding transportation network, planning of economic zones, local agricultural land area will be narrowed, so in the coming time, in agricultural production, the town will have detailed, specific, scientific planning, planning of production areas, intensive rice production areas for high productivity, good quality, production areas of commodity products such as short-term industrial crops, high-quality vegetables, fresh flowers, ornamental plants to take advantage of the market near Vinh City, Cua Lo Town and industrial parks.

Regarding ideological orientation, the Party Committee of Quan Hanh Town continues to promote the tradition of solidarity, collaboration, innovation and creativity, overcome difficulties, strive to successfully implement the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the Party Congress for the 2015 - 2020 term, build a strong and comprehensive town, worthy of being the urban center of Nghi Loc district.
