The red marks

Before 1960, the land belonging to Quy Hop Town was wild and dense, with only a few people from Tong Hoc and Diem villages in Chau Dinh commune coming to farm. From the place where they cleared the land to make fields and built huts to guard the crops, the households formed a small village with a few roofs, called Na Lum village (behind the current Quy Hop District People's Committee headquarters).

In 1961, the province mobilized 500 youth union members from the lowlands including Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen, Thanh Chuong, Quynh Luu districts... to form a Youth Volunteer Force to Quy Hop to build a new economic zone. In 1963, Quy Hop Forestry was established, workers were mobilized by Song Hieu Forestry Company. In July 1964, a number of patriotic overseas Vietnamese households settled in Thailand returned to build their homeland and settled in Quy Hop Town area at the call of the province... At this time, the residential area of Quy Hop Town area was just beginning to take shape. Over time, more and more people came here to make a living, and grocery stores, restaurants, food stores, etc. were established.

In early 1983, realizing that this was a strategic area, suitable for building an economic - political - cultural center of the district, the district leaders met and issued a resolution to establish the town. Then, on November 9, 1983, the Council of Ministers issued Decision No. 128 - QD/HDBT, on the basis of separating 600 hectares of land from Chau Quang commune, to establish Quy Hop Town. At this time, Quy Hop Town only had 2 agricultural production teams divided into 6 hamlets, with 169 households and 977 people.

Overcoming many difficulties, up to now, Quy Hop Town has a natural land area of over 737 hectares, 2,924 households divided into 20 blocks with 12,452 people, 67 State agencies and enterprises from central to local levels located in the area. Block Party cells have mobilized internal resources of over 2.3 billion VND to invest in the construction of works managed by the block.

In particular, located on the road leading to the town is the white stone processing handicraft village in Thung Khuoc, which is bustling with the production of stone cladding and stone carving. Stone products produced and processed here are not only consumed in the domestic market but also exported abroad.

Currently, the number of children in the town studying at national universities and colleges is increasing, many have become engineers, doctors, officers in the army, lecturers at universities...
