Market 8/3: More choices for customers

Walking through some stores, supermarkets, and shopping centers in Vinh city, one can see that the atmosphere of International Women’s Day is very close. Many stores and shops have displayed attractive gift signs or product discounts to attract customers’ attention.

Most of the flower shops on Ho Tung Mau, Nguyen Van Cu, and Le Hong Phong streets said that flower prices increased by 20-40% compared to normal days.
Ms. Mai Hong (owner of a flower shop on Nguyen Van Cu Street) said: "According to custom, shop owners usually order and stock up about a week in advance, however, this year we have not prepared as much as previous years due to concerns about the sluggish market. Prices of many items have increased, economic conditions are difficult, so consumers are "tightening their belts" and not choosing to buy expensive flowers. The prices of fresh flowers at this time, right from the import stage, are 15-20% more expensive than every year. The most expensive are still delphiniums, phalaenopsis orchids currently cost 150,000 - 250,000 VND/branch, tulips cost 200,000 - 300,000 VND/bunch; roses, lilies, Singaporean chrysanthemums have prices ranging from 15,000 - 80,000 VND/branch depending on the type...".

Currently, flower shops in the city have prepared many flower baskets with various designs and prices to serve customers, the average price of a flower basket is from 80,000 to 250,000 VND. Many flower shops in the Vinh University area arrange small bouquets of flowers at a lower price, about 50,000 VND to serve students.
Supermarkets and shopping malls are considered the earliest places to join the March 8th event. At Big C supermarket, many products in the promotion program are placed in beautiful gift boxes with gifts accompanied by bows, congratulatory messages designed in sync or discounted directly on the product. At the Supermarket of Books and Educational Equipment (on Le Hong Phong Street), many items are discounted from 5-15%. Books are also one of the popular items on the occasion of March 8th. To serve women, the supermarket has prepared hundreds of books with eye-catching packaging, with topics praising women such as: My wife is wonderful, the most intelligent and talented women in the world... sold at prices from 50,000-150,000 VND/book.
In addition, cards are also meaningful products attached to gifts. This year's card market is not only large in quantity but also diverse in designs and types. The most popular are cards from Duc Quyen, Bach Viet, Linh Nam printing houses... priced from 2,000 - 5,000 VND/piece. Besides simple card designs, this year on the market there are also many types of cards made elaborately by hand from coconut fiber, dry trees, fabric, embroidered wool... priced from 8,000 - 15,000 VND/piece. Small gifts such as key chains, phone bracelets, crystal balls... are not much different in price from normal days, averaging from 15,000 - 30,000 VND/piece, and are the choice of many young people because they are affordable.
Souvenir shops have also launched many new products such as necklaces, rings, cute animals, glass vases containing fragrant flowers, stylized heart-shaped items with "winged" wishes sold at prices ranging from 30,000 - 170,000 VND/product. Applying "digital technology", many people have chosen to use the internet to create "unique" gift products.
March 8 is approaching, a set of jewelry, a souvenir, a bouquet of fresh flowers or just a text message... are all considered meaningful gifts to express your love for the woman you love.
