Children's clothing market: Vietnamese goods dominate
(Baonghean) -Walking around the streets specializing in children's clothing on Nguyen Van Cu Street, BigC Supermarket, Intimex... (Vinh City), we can see that the children's clothing market is very diverse, with many designs, and consumers are paying much attention and choosing products of "Made in Viet Nam" brands.
As the economy develops and people's incomes increase, the need for children's beauty is increasingly emphasized. Not satisfied with the quality and design of popular fashion items sold in markets, consumers with good income often choose for their children products from famous brands that come with quality assurance such as Hanosimex, Hanoi Knitting, Gia Hoi, May Phong Phu, Thieu Ngoc, Kids & Kico, Won, Sanding .... Mr. Truong Cong Huu - Head of Hanosimex agency at 163 Le Loi said: In order to meet the needs of consumers, currently our agency, in addition to the official products of Hanoximex, we also import products from domestic companies such as Hanoi Knitting, Gia Hoi, Phong Phu ... With cotton material, sweat-absorbent, beautiful and diverse designs, many products for children from newborn to 14 - 15 years old. Although the price is a little higher than Chinese goods, in return the quality of Vietnamese goods is much better and ensures safety, and compared to imported goods the price is much cheaper, so in recent years consumers have really trusted and chosen, and the dealer's revenue is increasing.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao - Hanoi Knitting Agent at the Kenh Bac market gate said: In general, children's fashion products are inspired by cartoons, funny animal images, and familiar objects to Vietnamese people. The designs also keep up with fashion trends as well as children's characteristics such as: cute, active, convenient and cool, so jeans, khaki, muslin and cotton fabrics are often chosen by consumers.
"Made in Vietnam" products are always chosen by consumers.
In the current market, the price of a set of imported mid-range and high-end children's clothing is as expensive as, and sometimes even "surpasses" products for adults. For example, a T-shirt for a 5-year-old girl made in Korea costs 160,000 VND, while Hanosimex products cost only 55,000 VND; or a one-piece dress for a 3-year-old girl imported for 300,000 VND, while domestically produced products range from 160,000 to 180,000 VND. Not to mention summer products only range from 45,000 to 80,000 VND/set depending on age. Therefore, it is completely understandable that consumers tend to choose domestic textile products.
Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Giang - in Ha Huy Tap ward, has a 3-year-old boy, thinks that: children are very active, especially boys, so clothes for children should be diverse. Sets for children to wear at home, can play comfortably and some sets for children to go to kindergarten, go out... Girls often like colorful, graceful dresses and shirts. Funny animal shapes embroidered and printed on shirts are often close to characters in famous cartoons. I see that domestic textile products have met that need in recent times. From the time my children were born until now, I only trust products from some domestic manufacturers such as Hanoi Knitting, Hanosimex.
Ms. Tuong Thi Tan (64 years old) in Quan Bau ward said: In the past, she was also a textile worker, so domestic textile products were always the most trusted by her family. With cool materials and diverse designs, not only for children but also for adults. During Tet and Mid-Autumn Festival, the two grandparents often come here to buy clothes for their grandchildren.
However, it is also necessary to acknowledge that children's fashion is currently distributed along with products for adults, mainly concentrated in agencies, supermarkets, shopping centers in cities and towns. In the rural market, "Made in Vietnam" goods are still left open, mainly low-quality Chinese goods. Therefore, currently, good quality children's fashion produced domestically still cannot reach the majority of consumers.
