Green vegetable market price increase

(Baonghean.vn) - After storms No. 10 and 11, many winter vegetable areas of farmers in Vinh City and vegetable-specialized areas in Quynh Luu were damaged, crushed and lost.

In Hung Dong commune (Vinh city), this winter crop, the whole commune planted 30 hectares of various vegetables. Mainly, people grew various types of cabbage and herbs. However, due to the impact of storms No. 10 and No. 11, 70% of the winter vegetable area was destroyed and lost.

Because the supply of vegetables to the market has decreased, goods are scarce, and traders in the markets have arbitrarily raised prices, causing the price of green vegetables to increase. Green vegetables in most markets in Vinh city such as Quan Lau market, Hung Dung market, Quang Trung market, Ben Thuy market... have increased in price by 30-50% compared to the days before the storm.

Specifically, green mustard greens cost from 5,000 to 6,000 VND/bunch, lettuce 20,000 VND/kg, green beans 15,000 VND/kg, coriander 3,000 VND/bunch, and squash 10,000 VND/kg. In the next few days, it is forecasted that the prices of green vegetables and fruits will not return to normal due to the scarcity of goods. Responsible agencies need to regularly monitor and manage prices in markets to contribute to stabilizing the market.
