Cua Lo Town: Customers using clean water are still few.

The capacity of Cua Lo Water Plant is not large, but thanks to the appropriate production and business plan, there is rarely a shortage of clean water in Cua Lo.

One issue that businesses are concerned about is the water loss rate of 21%. Although this figure is low compared to other water plants in the province, Cua Lo Water Supply Company Limited is still determined to reduce the water loss rate to have more output to serve customers. Currently, Cua Lo has reduced the clean water loss rate to 17%.
According to statistics, in Cua Lo town, there are more than 2,900 customers using clean water, of which about 400 customers are hotels, motels, restaurants and the rest are customers in residential areas. Such statistics show that the number of customers using clean water in Cua Lo is not high, especially since there are still many hotels, motels and restaurants that do not use clean water according to the standards of the Ministry of Health.

It is known that, along with the 8 km long level 1 pipeline system from the factory area to Nghi Hai ward, in Cua Lo town, the 16 km long level 2 pipeline has reached the wards and communes. Although the level 2 and level 3 pipeline network has been expanded and extended to many roads in the town, there are many hotels, motels and restaurants that do not connect to the pipeline to use clean water.
An officer from the Planning Department of Cua Lo Water Supply Company Limited said: “The company has been very active in promoting and encouraging customers in the hotel, motel, and restaurant business to use clean water, but it is very difficult. From the beginning of 2013 until now, there have only been a few more customers signing contracts to use tap water, such as Bao Anh Hotel, Cua Lo Post Office Hotel, Thanh Hong Motel…”.
A sad reality in Cua Lo is that many hotels, motels and restaurants have signed contracts to use clean water, but from January to November 2012, they did not use any cubic meters of clean water (such as Thai An, An Dong, Hue Loc, Son Van, Song Bien, Khanh Hang, Huong Giang Hong Kim hotels and Cang Nghe Tinh, Anh Trang, Khanh Nguyen motels...). However, hotel and motel staff still advertise that they use tap water. In fact, the underground water source in Cua Lo town in many areas is contaminated with salt and does not meet the clean water standards of the Ministry of Health, but many customers in the hotel, motel and restaurant business still exploit it for use.
