Hoang Mai town has 40 schools (including 11 kindergartens, 17 primary schools, 10 secondary schools, 2 high schools), with 19,780 students at 3 levels: preschool, primary school, secondary school and 2,799 high school students. In the past school year, the education sector has implemented synchronous solutions to improve the quality of universal education for 5-year-old children, universal primary education at the right age, 5 wards and communes achieved 100% universal education for 5-year-old children.

The quality of comprehensive education has been improved. The number of excellent students and excellent teachers has increased. Compared to Quynh Luu district, the number of excellent students in grade 9 in the province is 5/36 students. The number of excellent students in the provincial online English Olympiad is 37/70 students, the number of excellent students in the district and the grade 8 Physics Olympiad is 257/1064 students.

Entering the 2013-2014 school year, although the town was newly established, the town was determined to overcome difficulties, innovate comprehensively, build an educational training plan, improve the quality of the teaching staff, and improve the quality of education.

On this occasion, Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation awarded certificates of merit to 4 units meeting cultural standards, and the Town People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 14 schools achieving the title of advanced labor collective.
