Fishing vessels operating offshore, especially in the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa waters, will be connected to the search and rescue information system to receive help in bad situations.
This useful information system was introduced by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Binh Dinh in collaboration with Hai Dang Telecommunications Electronics Company Limited in the seminar "Safety and rescue information system, fishing vessel management with ship radio using new product of ICOM IC-M802 DSC + GPS version", which took place on July 13 in Binh Dinh.

The system is capable of communicating and managing fishing vessels operating offshore via the long-range ICOM IC-M802 (integrated with GPS positioning and DSC radio transceiver). In addition, the system can communicate, determine the location and coordinates of fishing vessels operating at sea that have just sent out a distress signal, 1,000-2,000 nautical miles from the shore station so that authorities can promptly rescue fishermen.
Currently, the Government is directing localities to make lists and collect information to implement programs to support fishermen in fishing and exploiting aquatic products in distant seas, especially Hoang Sa and Truong Sa. Accordingly, fishermen will be supported in installing long-range ICOM radios, registration and inspection costs, and prevention of natural disasters at sea./.
