Nghe An children follow Uncle Ho's teachings
(Baonghean.vn) - To better understand the efforts of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers in accompanying children in following Uncle Ho's teachings, Nghe An Newspaper had a conversation with comrade Tran Linh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Council of the Young Pioneers of Nghe An province.

PV:Could you share about the characteristics, situation and typical activities to affirm the role of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team of Nghe An province in the current period?
Comrade Tran Linh:The Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team is an organization of Vietnamese children founded by President Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party of Vietnam, managed by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. The Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team was established on May 15, 1941 in Na Ma village, Truong Ha commune, Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province.
The Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team was established to gather children into a unified organization from the central to local levels under the guidance and responsibility of the Youth Union to accompany and educate them in the revolutionary spirit and consider them a revolutionary force. The Team has always been the core organization in children's movements, an educational force inside and outside of school, and a reserve force of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
Currently, Nghe An has nearly 500,000 members, teenagers and children operating in 887 teams across the province. Over the years, the work of caring for and educating teenagers and children has always received attention and organization from all levels of the Youth Union and Teams in the province in order to better meet the legitimate needs of children, contributing to creating conditions for teenagers and children to be trained and develop comprehensively.
Following 83 years of construction, development and growth, the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team of Nghe An province has always actively trained and strived in the work of caring for, nurturing and educating teenagers and children.

In recent times, the Provincial Youth Union has launched many campaigns and movements such as "For beloved juniors"; "Vietnamese children compete to implement Uncle Ho's 5 teachings"; "Lighting up the dreams of Vietnamese children"... Through that, meaningful programs have been organized such as "Warm Tet for children", "Full Moon Festival", "Healthy Children's Day - Stepping up to the Union", "Praising ethnic minority children". At the same time, playgrounds and competitions have been organized to improve social practice skills for children, and many constructions and playgrounds have been built for this group.

In particular, the movement “Nghe An children compete to follow Uncle Ho’s 5 teachings” has encouraged and motivated teenagers and children to strive to study, practice and participate in social activities to become good children, good students, good team members, good grandchildren of Uncle Ho. At the same time, it has contributed to improving the quality of activities and building the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Organization stronger and stronger.
PV:The movement “Nghe An children compete to follow Uncle Ho’s 5 teachings” of our province is highly appreciated by the Central Council of the Young Pioneers. So can you share more specifically about this movement?
Comrade Tran Linh:The movement “Nghe An children compete to follow Uncle Ho’s 5 teachings” has recently been widely spread by the Youth Unions at all levels in the province. Each school union has found its own creative ways to create an environment for children to study, practice and develop.
In the school library, it is not difficult to see students passing around and enthusiastically reading books about the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, such as: “Uncle Ho’s Daily Stories”, “Uncle Ho’s Youth”, “Blue Lotus”… It can be seen that for the students, the image of Uncle Ho is always sacred and noble. From there, the determination to carry out Uncle Ho’s teachings has become clear in their hearts.

Many examples of good people and good deeds showing the love and kindness of students despite their young age have moved many people. That is the act of picking up lost property and returning it to its owner by 3 students of Hung - Thai - Nghia Secondary School (Nam Thai Commune, Nam Dan District), including: Le Dinh Thai Bao (Class 8B), Le Dinh Hieu (Class 8C), Phan Van Khai (Class 8C). That is the act of saving a 2-year-old girl from drowning by 2 students Nguyen Thi Bao Thi and Nguyen Thi Phuong Tram - Nghi Thuan Secondary School, Nghi Loc District.
Or the beautiful act of Lo Khanh Ngoc - Chau Cuong Primary School, Quy Hop District carrying her friend to class; the group of friends Cao Khanh Linh - Ben Thuy Primary School, Vinh City growing long hair to donate to cancer patients...
Many Nghe An children have been honored in competitions such as the Provincial and Central level Excellent Team Leader Festival; many individuals have achieved the title "Brave Hero of a Thousand Good Deeds" at all levels.

Implementing Uncle Ho's 5 teachings has helped children develop comprehensively in all aspects; striving to become good children, good students, good team members, and good grandchildren of Uncle Ho. In the past time, 887 teams have organized nearly 800 activities to show gratitude, visit Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of martyrs, and take care of martyrs' cemeteries in the area.
They have also carried out hundreds of youth projects together, typically in Dien Chau district, the local teams collected 100.2 tons of scrap, the amount of money after selling the scrap was more than 315.8 million VND.
From a small budget, Dien Chau district has implemented 120 projects and youth work worth more than 250 million VND, and presented 400 gifts worth 50 million VND to students in difficult circumstances.
Or typically, in Hung Nguyen district, from the small planning budget, 2 small planning houses were built, and more than 45 million VND was donated to students in difficult circumstances in the form of scholarships, "Red Scarf" chickens and bicycles.

It can be affirmed that although Uncle Ho has passed away, for the students in Nghe An, Uncle Ho is still very close and familiar. That immense love is concretized by practical and meaningful actions, thereby spreading many bright examples of learning and training among children.
PV:Nghe An is a province with a large mountainous area, so what meaningful support has the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Organization given to children in remote areas and ethnic minority areas?
Comrade Tran Linh:Nghe An has more than 400 teams in 11 mountainous districts and towns of the province. In recent times, together with the Party Committee, government and political and social organizations, the provincial Teams have had many programs and activities to accompany and share with the children here. In particular, exchange and twinning activities between teams in the plains and teams in the highlands, remote areas, and border and island areas have been promoted.
Every year, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union Council always organize to honor and meet hundreds of outstanding ethnic minority children and children in difficult circumstances. The program "Connecting knowledge" - Supporting computers, equipping IT rooms for children in mountainous areas is always of interest to implement. Last year, there were more than 70 computers supporting IT rooms for students in Con Cuong, Ky Son, Que Phong districts worth hundreds of millions of VND.

At the same time, the Youth Union - Association - Young Pioneers at all levels coordinated with central and local units to organize the program "Spring on the border - Tet with love between the army and the people"; presented thousands of gifts to ethnic minority people and children in difficult circumstances, started construction of nearly 10 "Happy Houses" and "Gymnasiums and sports grounds for children" to accompany the children.
In particular, 100% of the teams receive support from 10 - 15 disadvantaged students at the unit, with many forms of assistance such as giving scholarships, supporting breeding animals, livestock for their families...
These activities have made an important contribution to gradually accompanying and supporting children in difficult circumstances in mountainous areas and ethnic minority areas of Nghe An in recent times.

PV:How does the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers need to improve and enhance its operational efficiency to meet the educational and training needs of children in the new period?
Comrade Tran Linh:In the current period, children across the country in general and Nghe An children in particular have been undergoing many significant changes. They are given the opportunity to study in a better environment to practice and develop their strengths.
However, there are also many things to think about. First, with the development of information and communication technology, children can easily access a large amount of diverse and rich information. This has a significant impact on their perception, thinking and behavior. In the family, the relationship between members is sometimes not really connected.
While in the city, parents have to face the hustle and bustle of work, in rural and mountainous areas, more and more children lack the affection and care of their parents when they have to work far away in industrial zones and factories in other provinces. Many children are also facing stress and anxiety in their studies, and many are depressed due to pressure from society, family and school violence.

Faced with the achievements and challenges of the renovation period, the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Organization does not stand aside but has, is, and will take specific actions. The first thing is to build a solid support network, including families, schools, and Youth Union - Young Pioneer - Association organizations to ensure that children receive effective support and companionship. Organizing activities to attract and gather children outside of school in a way that is flexible but still ensures the political and educational nature of the organization.
In addition, the work of creating a source of cadres in charge of the Team must ensure the required qualities and capacities to perform their duties well and educate the team members according to the objectives of the Team organization.

Finally, it is necessary to carry out well the movements of the Team to help children practice, strive, create an environment and motivation for them to be worthy of being Uncle Ho's good children, excellently implementing Uncle Ho's 5 teachings, closely linked to the cause of building and developing the country today. These are important premises for Nghe An children to be able to develop most comprehensively in the new situation.
PV:Thanks for the chat, comrade!
