Thousands of protesters have been marching to demand an end to military operations and a 24-hour curfew in several areas of the Sur district of Diyarbakir city since December 2015.
Security forces fired water cannon and used tear gas to disperse the protest, which was called by a pro-Kurdish political party. Some protesters threw rocks at police.
Turkish security forces have launched large-scale security operations to clear out Kurdish rebels and imposed day-long curfews in several autonomous urban areas./.
