Ankara reports that since July 2015, about 1,000 soldiers and policemen have been killed in attacks by Kurdish militants, along with about 500 civilian victims.
According to data from the Turkish Ministry of Defense, during this period, security forces neutralized more than 10,000 PKK members. There are PKK bases in northern Iraq, and this is the area where the Turkish armed forces conduct air and ground operations.
