Turkish airstrikes in northern Syria and northern Iraq
On the morning of November 20, Türkiye conducted airstrikes on Kurdish bases in northern Syria and northern Iraq.
Türkiye said these were locations used to carry out attacks on the country. According to the Turkish Defense Ministry, the attacks targeted bases of the Kurdistan Workers' Party in northern Iraq and the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) in northern Syria.

The Turkish government previously blamed Kurdish forces for a massive explosion in downtown Istanbul, Türkiye on November 13 that killed six people and injured more than 80.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Kurdish forces in northern Syria and northern Iraq have denied involvement. Türkiye said it plans to pursue targets in northern Syria after completing its cross-border operation in northern Iraq./.
