Motorbike repairman stabbed to death at midnight

A young man chased a motorbike mechanic after a drinking dispute with a young man who brandished a knife and stabbed him to death on the street. The victim was rushed to the hospital but died.

Witnesses said that at around 0:30 on September 10, Mr. Uy was drinking with some people at a house on Nguyen Dinh Chinh Street, Ward 11, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City when he got into an argument with a young man about 25 years old.

The position where Mr. Uy was stabbed and fell

During the argument, this person took a knife about 30cm long and slashed Mr. Uy's hand. Being attacked, Mr. Uy ran to the front of house number 233 Nguyen Dinh Chinh but was caught by the young man and this person continued to stab Mr. Uy many times until he collapsed on the spot.

The victim was taken to the hospital by locals but died. The perpetrator left the scene shortly after.

Authorities examine the scene

It is known that Mr. Uy has a wife and two small children in his hometown of Thai Binh. The victim is a gentle person, working as a mechanic at Minh Dat shop (near the crime scene) for about 2 years.

That same morning, local police arrived to examine the scene, take witness statements and arrest the perpetrator.
