Construction worker in critical condition after being hit by high voltage electricity

(Baonghean.vn)- At around 3:00 p.m. on November 19, a worker who was constructing a house for the PIHICO Wood Processing Company (Nam Cam Industrial Park) on a high floor was electrocuted by a high-voltage power line. As a result, the victim had to be hospitalized in critical condition.

The victim was identified as Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1992), residing in Nghi Xa commune, Nghi Loc district - a construction worker for PIHICO wood processing company (located in Nam Cam Industrial Park).

At the scene, the housing project under construction by PIHICO Wood Processing Company is less than 1 meter away from the high voltage power line.

Mr. Ho Viet Son, Director of Cua Lo Town Electricity, said that before the incident, the electricity company did not receive a request to cut off power from the company.

It is known that 2 weeks ago, the electricity industry made a record of the company's deliberate violation of the power grid corridor. At that time, the company was building a house only 1.5 meters from the power grid.

Currently, the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone, Nghe An Infrastructure Investment and Construction One Member Co., Ltd. and Nghi Loc District Police are making a record of the incident and at the same time, requesting the wood processing company to stop construction to ensure safety.

As for the victim Nguyen Van Hung, due to complicated health conditions, he was transferred to Hanoi for treatment.
