'Secret' agreement between US House Speaker and President Biden on Ukraine required to be made public in detail
Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida is asking House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to reveal details of the Ukraine “deal” he reportedly struck with the US President to approve short-term government funding.
"Mr. Chairman, please tell us what was the secret deal on Ukraine? What commitments were made to President Biden to continue his embezzlement in exchange for what was given to President Biden?" - Gaetz said on the House floor.

“It is increasingly clear who the Speaker of the House is working for, not the Republican Party,” said Gaetz, a far-right Republican congressman.
A day earlier, Biden, speaking to reporters after Congress passed a temporary budget that did not include aid to Kiev, said he had reached a “deal on Ukraine” with House Speaker McCarthy. Some Republicans criticized the House speaker and called for his resignation, suspecting he had negotiated with the administration without their consent.
White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre on Monday declined to provide details about the deal Biden mentioned, neither confirming nor denying its existence.
Earlier, the Washington Post also reported that the far-right wing of the Republican Party is planning to remove McCarthy from the position of Speaker of the US House of Representatives next week. If the right wing of the Republican Party tries to remove McCarthy from his position and the Republican Party begins a long-term struggle to appoint a new Speaker of the House, the entire legislative process in the US House of Representatives is at risk of being blocked.
Given the potential disagreements among Republicans, McCarthy's fate as Speaker of the House in the event of a vote would be decided by Democrats, as the proposal to remove the Speaker of the House would require a majority of House members to pass, the Washington Post pointed out. Meanwhile, Democrats have not yet decided whether they will defend McCarthy or vote against him, the newspaper cited several sources as saying.
US experts say President Zelensky has only two options left.
