Weather on May 10: Nghe An mountainous region is hot over 40 degrees

Weather news from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that the low pressure area in the west has gradually weakened, so today (May 10), the heat in the North has decreased rapidly, only occurring in the mountainous areas and the Northwest. In the late afternoon and evening, there is a possibility of thunderstorms with the risk of tornadoes, hail and strong gusts of wind.

For the provinces in the North Central region, today the heat has also decreased, only occurring in a few places in the southern provinces. Nghe An - Thanh Hoa provinces should be on guard for the possibility of heavy rain accompanied by extreme weather phenomena.

Regarding the hot weather, yesterday (May 9), widespread hot weather occurred in the Northwestern and Southern provinces and expanded to the entire Central coastal provinces with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35-38 degrees Celsius, with some places above 39 degrees Celsius such as: Muong La (Son La) 39.2 degrees Celsius, Tuong Duong (Nghe An) 40.5 degrees Celsius, Huong Khe (Ha Tinh) 39.2 degrees Celsius, Dong Ha (Quang Tri) 39.8 degrees Celsius, Nam Dong (Thua Thien Hue) 39.4 degrees Celsius, Son Hoa (Phu Yen) 40 degrees Celsius.

Today (May 10), widespread heat continues in the Central and Southern provinces with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35-38 degrees Celsius, with some places above 38 degrees Celsius.

The heat in the Central and Southern provinces will last for the next two days. From May 12, the heat in the Central and Southern regions will gradually decrease.

Currently, in the West of Hanoi area, there is a convective cloud area developing causing thunderstorms in Vinh Phuc province. This thunderstorm cloud area is moving from the West towards Hanoi city area.

Warning: This convective cloud area will cause showers and thunderstorms in the northern part of Hanoi and may spread to neighboring areas. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, whirlwinds and strong gusts of wind.
