According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today and tonight (June 16), due to the influence of a low pressure trough combined with a wind convergence zone above 1,500m, there will be showers and thunderstorms in the mountainous areas of the North, with some areas having moderate to heavy rain (common rainfall of 20-50mm/24 hours, some places over 100mm/24 hours). Heavy rain in the mountainous areas of the North is likely to last until June 17-18; heavy rain will be concentrated at night and early morning. There is a high risk of flash floods and landslides in the mountainous areas of the North (especially in the provinces of Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Bac Can, Yen Bai, Lao Cai), and flooding in low-lying areas in the above areas.
Meanwhile, the Central region will experience hot and extremely hot weather with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 36-38 degrees Celsius, with some places above 38 degrees Celsius; The heat in the Central region is likely to last for the next 5-7 days.
Northwest
