(Baonghean.vn) -In the first days of 2012, due to bad weather and rough seas, many fishing boats of fishermen in coastal districts of Nghe An had accidents, causing great property damage, fortunately there were no human casualties.

At 8:00 a.m. on January 4, 2012, at coordinates 19022'01"N - 106007'00"E (sea area of Quynh Luu district, Nghe An), fishing boat number NA - 9400 - TS owned by Mr. Le Ba The and 10 crew members, all from Dong Tien hamlet, Quynh Lap commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An sank, with initial damage of about 900 million VND.

Previously, at 7:30 a.m. on January 1, 2012, at Lach Van estuary, Dien Chau district, two fishing boats ran aground and were at risk of sinking. They were the NA-91032-TS boat owned by Mr. Ngo Tri Luong, born in 1969, and the NA-90355 TS boat owned by Mr. Nguyen Phuc Giang, born in 1975, both residing in Quyet Thang hamlet, Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau district. The cause was that the boats ran aground and encountered strong winds that tilted the boats, causing water to flood in. Upon receiving the news, Dien Thanh Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard) coordinated with the locality to organize rescue forces and means. By January 2, the two boats had been brought safely to shore, with initial material damage estimated at about 150 million VND.
