Agreed to reduce 50% of toll price through Ben Thuy bridge from April 15

(Baonghean.vn) - The Ministry of Transport has sent a document to the People's Committee of Nghe An and Ha Tinh Cienco 4 regarding the implementation of reducing road service fees at Ben Thuy toll station.

According to document No. 3492/BGTVT-ĐTCT dated April 3, 2017, the Ministry of Transport agreed to reduce by 50% the price of road services at Ben Thuy I and Ben Thuy II stations for vehicles of type 1 (vehicles with less than 12 seats, trucks with a load capacity of less than 2 tons; all types of public passenger buses) and type 2 (vehicles with from 12 to 30 seats; trucks with a load capacity of from 2 tons to under 4 tons) of people with permanent residence, organizations and enterprises with headquarters in the areas of Vinh city, Hung Nguyen district (Nghe An), Nghi Xuan district, Hong Linh town (Ha Tinh).

According to the Ministry of Transport, the 50% fee reduction is in accordance with the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh in Official Dispatch No. 11206/VPCP dated December 23, 2016 and No. 1504 dated February 21, 2017 of the Government Office to ensure the financial efficiency of the Project, based on the proposal of the General Corporation for Transport Construction 4 - JSC (Cienco 4) - the investor of the above projects in Official Dispatch No. 1833/TCT-CV dated April 3, 2017.

The Ministry of Transport requested the People's Committees of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces to direct the functional agencies of the province, relevant districts, towns and cities to coordinate with Cienco 4 to specifically confirm the vehicles of the subjects that are entitled to service price reductions according to regulations.

At the same time, measures must be taken to ensure security, order, traffic safety, and avoid traffic congestion during the process of collecting road service fees at Ben Thuy bridge.

The Ministry of Transport requires Cienco 4 to urgently complete related procedures, calculate financial plans according to the adjusted price, complete the Contract Appendix, and submit it to the Ministry of Transport before April 10. The Public-Private Partnership Department is assigned to submit it to the Ministry's leaders for signature before April 13, 2017 so that the service price reduction can officially take place from April 15, 2017.
