(Baonghean.vn) - This afternoon, March 7, in Vinh City, the Vietnam Institute of Culture and Arts had a working session with the Provincial People's Committee and related departments and branches to approve the Project and action plan to build a dossier for "Nghe - Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs" to submit to UNESCO for recognition as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Attending the meeting were comrade To Hong Hai - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; comrades: Nguyen Chi Ben - Associate Professor, Doctor, Director of the Vietnam Institute of Culture and Arts; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Thien - Vice Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.



Working scene

Under the direction of the Prime Minister and the attention of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the support of the Vietnam Institute of Culture and Arts, Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces have established a project to build a nomination dossier for "Nghe - Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs" to submit to UNESCO for recognition as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

At the meeting, delegates listened to the representative of the Vietnam Institute of Culture and Arts present the Project dossier with the main contents: Organizing scientific research, collecting, and inventorying; Organizing international scientific seminars, conferences to collect community opinions to preserve and promote the value of Vi and Giam folk songs; Visiting and studying experiences in preserving performing arts... Accordingly, the project implementation period is divided into 2 phases: Phase 1 from February 2013 to March 2013, focusing on building the dossier and submitting the dossier to UNESCO in Paris on time (March 31, 2013); Phase 2: from March 2013 to December 2014: Completing the dossier according to UNESCO's requirements (if any).

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the leaders of Nghe An province, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong hoped that the Vietnam Institute of Culture and Arts would continue to complete the dossier and procedures of the project "Nghe - Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs" to submit to UNESCO for recognition as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces are determined to implement the main contents of the project with the desire to increasingly preserve, maintain and promote the precious heritage values ​​left by our ancestors.
