(Baonghean.vn) - Speaking with Nghe An Newspaper reporters at noon on November 10, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh - Chairman of Nghi Quang Commune People's Committee (Nghi Loc) affirmed that the incident happened because Mr. Thau was drunk and there was no conflict between the two.

Regarding the incident in which Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh - Chairman of Nghi Quang Commune People's Committee was shot at the commune People's Committee headquarters, Nghi Loc Police have provided official information.

Specifically, at 3:15 p.m. on November 9, 2017, Nghi Loc District Police received a report with the following content: In Nghi Quang Commune (Nghi Loc), there was a gunshot that injured comrade Nguyen Dinh Thanh - Chairman of Nghi Quang Commune People's Committee.

After receiving the report, the Nghi Loc District Police Department quickly arrived at the scene, coordinated with the Nghe An General Hospital to examine the wound, and organized investigation activities according to the law.

Initial results determined that after drinking alcohol at noon, around 3:15 p.m. on November 9, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thau - Head of Nghi Quang Commune Police used a support tool (a rubber bullet gun) that was provided to cause an explosion, causing comrade Nguyen Dinh Thanh - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee to be slightly injured and was discharged from the hospital on the night of November 9. On the morning of November 10, the activities of Nghi Quang Commune People's Committee continued normally.

Currently, the Nghi Loc District Police Investigation Agency has seized the rubber bullet gun and brought Nguyen Ngoc Thau to the District Police headquarters for investigation according to the law.

Speaking to Nghe An Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh - Chairman of Nghi Quang Commune People's Committee added: "After the incident, I was taken to the hospital for examination and now my health is stable, the wounds on my shoulder do not affect my health much. The CT scan results have not detected any abnormal signs."

"Mr. Thau is a qualified and capable person, highly appreciated by the locality and the district police. The incident happened because Mr. Thau drank alcohol and could not control himself, so he acted inappropriately. There was no conflict between Mr. Thau and I. We live very affectionately and respect each other," Mr. Thanh affirmed.
