False information about the discovery of hundreds of cluster bombs during construction
(Baonghean) - Before the information on May 10 at the Super Lean Pig Farming Project in Chua Den Stream, Thuong Hamlet, Dien Yen Commune (Dien Chau), the construction unit was digging soil to make a manhole when they discovered hundreds of cluster bombs and mines underground, Nghe An Newspaper reporters went to investigate and verify the information.
Major Hoang Minh Dao - Deputy Commander of the Dien Chau District Military Command said that in the 1980s, two ammunition trucks were brought here to be detonated and then buried. Checking the scene, they found four 82mm mortar shells, one 100mm mortar shell and two wooden grenades without fuses in the process of decomposition, unable to determine which country produced them.
The information that there are hundreds of mines and cluster bombs here is incorrect. The above ammunition bodies do not have detonators so they are not dangerous. Currently, the project has been temporarily suspended to wait for instructions from the Provincial Military Command and will soon have a conclusion to avoid causing public confusion.
