Letter from the President on the occasion of the opening of the new school year
On the occasion of the opening of the new school year 2014-2015, President Truong Tan Sang sent a letter to the education sector. Below is the full text of the President's letter.
Dear teachers, officials, civil servants, education sector employees, parents and students!
On the occasion of the opening of the new school year 2014-2015, I would like to send my best wishes to generations of teachers, officials, civil servants, and employees in the education sector and students nationwide.
The 2013-2014 school year is the first year to implement Resolution No. 2-NQ/TW dated November 4, 2013 of the 8th Central Conference (Session XI) on fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training, meeting the requirements of industrialization and modernization in the context of a socialist-oriented market economy and international integration.
The Education sector has made great efforts and implemented many synchronous solutions to continue to innovate management work, improve the quality of general education, university education and vocational education; policies for poor students, ethnic minorities, remote areas, areas with special socio-economic difficulties and policy subjects have been timely supplemented; the innovation of high school graduation exams and university and college admissions in 2014 has received consensus from society; Vietnamese teams participating in regional and international Olympic competitions continue to achieve excellent results; university education has been gradually innovated synchronously towards increasing autonomy and self-responsibility.
I warmly commend the efforts and achievements of the Education sector in the past school year.
In the 2014-2015 school year, the education sector needs to continue promoting and replicating new models and good practices of advanced examples; pay more attention to moral and lifestyle education for students; maintain and continuously improve the quality of education and training; actively and effectively implement the Government's Action Program on fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training.
On this occasion, I would like to request that Party committees at all levels, authorities, mass organizations, families and society continue to pay more attention and care to the cause of education; create better and more complete conditions for our children to study, practice and strive.
Dear teachers!
I truly sympathize with the difficulties, hardships but also the glory of the education profession, especially teachers in remote, border and island areas who have had to sacrifice a lot to nurture and educate their students towards a better future. I hope that teachers will continue to try harder for the cause of "Growing people".
Dear students!
You are the future masters of the country. I hope you study hard, practice and actively participate in social activities, use your precious time as a student to prepare well for your career and to serve your homeland and country in the future.
Wishing teachers, officials, civil servants, and employees of the education sector and all students many outstanding achievements in the new school year. Wishing the education career to develop more and more, contributing significantly to the successful implementation of the cause of industrialization, modernization, building and firmly protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
